Spire Consulting Group, LLC is an established, multi-disciplined construction management and engineering consulting firm serving owners, general contractors, attorneys, financial institutions and sureties. Spire is currently seeking an extraordinary full-time, mid-level professional to provide construction engineering consulting services in its Austin, Texas office.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and manage CPM schedules
  • Quantify and document delays
  • Analyze and prepare construction claims
  • Draft and review technical reports
  • Perform risk analysis and document recommendations
  • Evaluate productivity impacts
  • Review and analyze construction contracts
  • Assist experts in preparing reports for use during testimony and various legal proceedings
  • Manage contractors and other consultants
  • Manage project work and internal development efforts
  • Ensure work products conform to highest quality standards; develop and enforce best practices
  • Generate and evaluate construction cost estimates
  • Quantify damages for construction disputes
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Author technical articles for industry publications

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • Have extensive experience developing and managing CPM schedules
  • Have between five to ten years of engineering, construction or related experience
  • Have between five to ten years of heavy scheduling, cost estimating or litigation support experience
  • Have previous construction consulting experience
  • Have experience with large scale (greater than $50 million) commercial, industrial or petrochemical construction projects
  • Have experience with working in small teams (less than 8)
  • Have strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail and exceptional analytic abilities
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related discipline; post-graduate a plus but not required
  • Have a proven track record for managing multiple projects consisting of diverse team members to successful completion
  • Be proficient with standard industry tools such as BIM, Primavera, RS Means and Timberline
  • Hold or be interested in acquiring professional certifications within areas of expertise (PE, CCE, PMP, LEED a plus but not required)
  • Excel at developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Be comfortable developing and presenting material at industry speaking engagements
  • Be open to travel on an as-needed basis
  • Be self-starting and able to work extended periods with limited supervision
  • Possess a strong entrepreneurial drive and desire to continually enhance professional capabilities
  • Be interested in the opportunity to establish a long term presence in the Austin market
