We have all heard the stories, ‘I can’t find enough electricians to finish my job’ or ‘there are not enough skilled concrete workers to finish on time.’ The lack of available and qualified labor on a project is not only a recent headline but has historically occurred on numerous occasions. Multiple construction organizations have claimed recurring shortages of construction labor in the U.S. in the past three decades.

Managing Principal, Anthony Gonzales, and Consultant, Nour Bouhou, PhD, will partner with the Lorman Education Series to present a live webinar to top construction industry professionals on Monday, January 22 from 1:00PM – 2:30PM EST. Mr. Gonzales and Dr. Bouhou will discuss how to properly identify and predict labor availability in the construction industry, as well as dispel common misconceptions about labor shortage. Attendees of the webinar will be able to describe labor shortage conditions and the theory behind it, discuss how to quantify labor shortages using the labor availability metric, explain how to predict labor availability, and review labor shortage conditions.

Spire’s experts will discuss the importance of using empirical analysis to determine labor availability and assess the magnitude of existing and potential labor shortages in the construction industry. The team will also explain the impact of weather conditions and natural disasters, such as hurricanes Harvey and Irma, on labor availability to understand when a labor shortage condition could be anticipated in the near future.

This webinar is open to all construction professionals, who are looking to learn more about the labor shortage and its impact on the construction industry.
