SPIRE’S CONSTRUCTION DAMAGES EXPERTS TO SPEAK AT THE AUSTIN BAR ASSOCIATION


Mr. Gonzales and Ms. Hull will discuss methods of quantifying damages typically associated with construction claims and will provide guidelines to assist attorneys and their clients in understanding the process.

 

Managing Principal, Anthony Gonzales, and Managing Consultant, Kate Hull will lend their insights and expertise on “Analyzing and Simplifying Construction Damages” to the Construction Law Section of the Austin Bar Association on Thursday, May 18th. Mr. Gonzales and Ms. Hull will discuss methods of quantifying damages typically associated with construction claims and will provide guidelines to assist attorneys and their clients in understanding the process. The presentation will specifically address:

  • Types of damages that can occur
  • Methods of quantification
  • Damages cause and effect
  • Contract clauses that affect damages quantification
  • Proper documentation and preparation
  • Guidelines on how to present damages quantification
  • Relevant case law

Mr. Gonzales has more than 20 years of experience identifying and quantifying construction damages for owners, contractors, architects, and engineers. He has guided clients through multimillion-dollar construction-related disputes. Mr. Gonzales has given presentations at more than 60 national and international industry seminars and conferences, and lectures at The University of Texas at Austin.

Ms. Hull has nearly 10 years of experience and has worked on more than 50 projects globally ranging in value from $1 million to $1.2 billion. She has helped clients in the education, industrial, and residential industries recover millions of dollars in damages. Ms. Hull was recently named an Emerging Leader by the Society of Women Engineers Gulf Coast Region and has been honored as a “Top 20 Under 40” by Engineering News-Record.

The presentation will be held at the Austin Bar Association at 816 Congress Avenue, Suite 700, Austin, TX from 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The event is open to both Austin Bar members and non-members alike.
