Construction has become increasingly complex and an understanding of globally recognized methods and techniques to successfully plan and execute cost-efficient projects is necessary for success.

Spire Consultant, Rahim Alexander, CCM, LEED AP, BD+C, presented at the 2018 Atlanta Build Expo on both July 11th and 12th at the Georgia World Congress Center. The session titled An Insider’s Guide to Effective Project Planning and Control, provided guidelines on pre-project planning, scheduling, cost and risk mitigation strategies on construction projects.

More specifically, the topics he covered included the implementation of effective scheduling planning and development, development of a realistic baseline schedule, cost development and management, and project performance measurement using earned value. The session’s attendees consisted of owners, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and government agencies.

“Mr. Alexander’s presentation was one of the better sessions,” stated Robert McLain Sr., CEO of EFX Electric LLC. “It was very informative and eye opening.”

“This presentation demonstrates how effective cost management and schedule planning are increasing the likelihood of a successful project,” said Mr. Alexander. “It also reveals potential solutions that can decrease the costs incurred throughout the project and assists the client in creating a reasonable and accurate depiction of the work.”

Mr. Rahim Alexander, CCM , LEED AP, BD+C, has more than 20 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector. As a construction executive within a $2 Billion dollar program, Mr. Alexander’s responsibilities included the high level oversight and construction coordination of certain facility projects. As an expert, he provides assistance in construction related cases involving standard of care, schedule delay, productivity impact and damages quantification.
