Anthony Gonzales Featured In ABC’s Construction Executive Magazine

Anthony Gonzales, Managing Principal, was featured in the July/August Edition of  the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Construction Executive Magazine. Expert Project Planning, written by Joanna Masterson, discusses the importance of regularly evaluating lessons learned in scheduling and communication within construction projects.

The article describes how construction firms are not as quick to share scheduling and communication downfalls as they are when it comes to safety and estimating. Rather than sharing experiences at the end of every project, Mr. Gonzales recommends schedulers communicate those lessons on a monthly basis.

“The top end construction companies do a great job of centralizing their estimates and capturing lessons learned in a database that can be used regionally,” Mr. Gonzales says. “But most well-run companies don’t have that from a scheduling and planning perspective. Instead, staff members are making these decisions at the project level and they don’t have a guide to help them out.”

Mr. Gonzales also stresses the importance of aligning a project’s expectations, accountability, and transparency at an early stage. This must be done across different teams, and within each of those teams, in order to become a truly intelligent project.

In addition to Anthony Gonzales’ expertise, the article also highlights projects completed by four winners of the Associated Builders and Contractors’ Excellence in Construction® award.
