Scheduling enables construction professionals to effectively manage projects, forecast completion dates, and communicate the overall construction plan.
Spire Managing Consultant, Jesus Schuldes, PSP, presented at the 2018 Houston Build Expo on both August 15th and 16th at the NRG Park Convention Center. The session titled Forecasting the Future: Effective Schedule Development and Management, provided guidelines on how to properly develop and manage a schedule throughout a construction project.
More specifically, the topics he covered included scheduling basics, developing a realistic baseline schedule, using critical path method (CPM) scheduling, revisions and updates to the schedule, and cost/resource loading and reporting. The session’s attendees consisted of owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and government agencies.
Mr. Jesus Schuldes, PSP, has worked on more than 40 projects across seven countries and four continents over the last decade. As a Managaing Consultant with Spire, Mr. Schuldes provides scheduling, project planning and change order assessment services. As an expert witness, Mr. Schuldes provides litigation support and testimony on construction-related claims involving schedule delay, disruption impacts and quantification of damages. He has delivered presentations for organizations such as AACE International and authored papers on topics including quantifying disruption, tilt-up construction, and solving and simplifying delay identification and quantification.
