Kate Hull Speaks at the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) 2014 Annual Conference
Kate Hull, a Senior Consultant with Spire Consulting Group, LLC will be speaking at the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) 2014 Annual Conference in Los Angeles, CA. The conference will be held October 21st -25th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Ms. Hull will be introducing the newly created SWE Strategic Initiative Committee on Friday, October 24th. This session will provide members the opportunity to learn about the committee and participate in brainstorming sessions to identify issues of interest to women in engineering.
The Committee performs necessary research and develops white papers to facilitate the society’s dialogue on strategic initiatives. The Committee also encourages SWE members to submit ideas for future initiatives that align with the society’s strategic goals.
In addition, she will be presenting an update on the Strategic Initiatives Committee at the Senate meeting. Ms. Hull will also facilitate a working session to brainstorm ideas for how SWE can better support entrepreneurs and small business members.
Ms. Hull has been a member of SWE for 10 years and has held numerous leadership positions within the organization as both a collegiate and a professional member. She currently serves as Chair of the Senate Strategic Initiatives Committee, Professional Senator for Region C and Counselor of The University of Texas at Austin SWE collegiate section.
With a market share of around 10 percent, the United States is the second largest construction market worldwide and continues to grow. The annual conference attracts more than 7,000 women engineers and scientists from around the world and consists of more than 200 professional development workshops and seminars, networking events, awards banquets and site visits.
