Spire is proud to share that one of our project management engagements has won an award in the AGC Austin Outstanding Construction Awards. The project, T.A. Brown Elementary School, is part of the $1.1 Billion AISD 2017 Bond Program, and was constructed by Rogers O’Brien Construction Company.

T.A. Brown Elementary school, located in North Central Austin, was one of the first Bond Program schools to reach completion in January of 2020. The elementary school, with students from Pre-Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, boasts unique learning environments including maker spaces, a community room, media resource center, and a learning staircase.

Under the AECOM team, Spire worked with Rogers O’Brien to deliver Project Management services under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools. The team focused on providing bidding and procurement management, program controls, A/E coordination, and post-construction management services. In addition, Spire provided budget and cost control services for the entire Bond Program, including cost estimate reviews and analyses, budget and change order reviews, and financial management.

We are grateful to have worked alongside the Rogers O’Brien team in achieving this accomplishment and are excited for the many years of learning and innovation that T.A. Brown Elementary School will provide Austin area children for years to come.
