The Annual Meeting is a chance for construction and engineering professionals from across the globe to come together and discuss novel ideas in areas such as claims and dispute resolution, project management, cost and schedule control, and building information modeling.

Spire Consulting Group continues to lead the construction industry with its two most recent publications: “Contemporaneous ‘As-Is’ Period Schedule Delay Methodology – Forensic Delay Methodology MIP 3. 3” and “Identifying and Predicting Labor Availability in the Construction Industry”. The papers will be presented on June 12 and 13 respectively during the 2017 AACE International Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. The Annual Meeting is a chance for construction and engineering professionals from across the globe to come together and discuss novel ideas in areas such as claims and dispute resolution, project management, cost and schedule control, and building information modeling.

Spire will be represented by Managing Principal, Anthony Gonzales, Managing Consultant, Kate Hull, Senior Consultant, Jesus Schuldes, and Consultants, Dr. Nour Bouhou, and Dr. Marcelo Azambuja. Each of Spire’s experts is an active leader in the conversations that are helping advance the construction and engineering industries forward. The papers being presented will cultivate conversations such as using the proper methodologies to help clients in a schedule-related dispute or addressing growing concerns with labor availability.

The first of the two papers covers a retrospective analysis technique known as “contemporaneous as-is” or “Windows”, focusing on the usage of the periodic schedules submitted during a project as a basis to identify and quantify delay. Additionally, Spire’s experts will cover the arguments for and against this methodology, given the various types of cases that can occur.

The second paper will cover the proper ways to identify, quantify, and predict labor availability in the construction industry and dispel inherent misconceptions. Spire’s experts will also discuss the implications of labor shortages in relation to the future of the construction industry.

Additionally, Dr. Nour Bouhou, co-author of “Identifying and Predicting Labor Availability in the Construction Industry” was recently elected as Secretary of the AACE San Francisco Bay Area Section. She will be a part of the 2018 planning committee for the AACE Western Winter Workshop as well as plan monthly section events.
