Spire’s Health and Wellness Initiatives Recognized in the Society of Women Engineers’ (SWE) eBook on Work & Life Integration

Spire Consulting Group’s health and wellness initiatives were recently recognized in the Society of Women Engineers’ (SWE) first eBook on Work & Life Integration as great alternatives for small businesses.

The eBook references Spire’s three-month fitness challenge for its employees during the holiday season as a good alternative for companies that do not have on-site fitness centers. Employees were given a membership to a nearby gym and encouraged to obtain a body composition test at the beginning of the challenge. Based on their results, employees set individual goals to achieve within three months. At the end of the challenge, employees measured their results by taking a second body composition test.

During the challenge, a nutritionist was also brought into the office to discuss healthy eating habits, provide recommendations and answer questions.

Spire also provides employees with healthy snack options from Whole Foods which the eBook recognizes as a good alternative for companies that do not have on-site cafeterias or fully functioning kitchens.
