Position Summary
Responsible for assisting owners, contractors, and subcontractors across numerous sectors within the AEC industry, on both proactive and forensic consulting projects. Assist with completion of client engagements and internal projects. Promote Spire’s company values and work to achieve the company’s core purpose.
Responsibilities
- Claims and Litigation Services
- Manage, review and analyze project documents.
- Assist with change order analysis.
- Perform legal and industry standards research.
- Assist with construction defect analysis.
- Assist with damages quantification.
- Assist with delay quantification.
- Analyze and prepare construction claims.
- Assist with productivity analysis.
- Assist with risk analysis and document recommendations.
- Evaluate project planning, costs and schedules.
- Assist with damages quantification involving standard of care and due diligence. o Prepare reports and presentations for expert witness use during mediation, arbitration and litigation.
- QA/QC (consistency, formatting, fact checking) for reports and related documentation.
- Proactive Services
- Develop and manage CPM schedules and project controls.
- Generate and evaluate construction cost estimates.
- Review labor and equipment productivity.
- Perform risk analysis and evaluations.
- Manage contractors and other consultants. o Perform value engineering (long term savings, best value, for client).
- Prepare report on findings / recommendations on an as needed basis.
- Develop and prepare construction and project training programs.
- Communicate effectively with clients and Spire staff in writing, in person, and over the phone.
- Prioritize and work concurrently on multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlines.
- Develop and provide feedback on company standards, procedures and processes.
- Participate in business strategy review meetings.
- Ensure work products conform to highest quality standards.
Education/Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction or related discipline; Bachelor’s degree considered with six (6) to 10 years of related experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of engineering, heavy scheduling, cost estimating and/or litigation experience in the construction industry or related experience.
