POSITION SUMMARY

Spire is seeking an Human Resources Manager in our Austin office to work directly with the Director of Operations to assist with HR functions. The Human Resources Manager will manage all HR functions including leading candidate recruitment efforts. Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and function effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating a “can do” attitude. We are looking for an energetic, quick-learning, and motivated candidate with A/E/C industry experience, as well as strong people and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ADMINISTRATION – Maintain personnel records
    • Various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel
    • Develop and implement personnel policies and procedures
    • Prepare and maintain the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual
    • Maintain company organization charts, employee directory, and phone list
    • Verify and compile all new hire documentation forms
  • PAYROLL – Assist Director of Operations to ensure payroll
    • Audit expense reports
    • Checks and balances for bi-monthly payroll run
    • Maintain professional development and sales budgets by employee
  • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT – Manage performance management efforts
    • Execute, coordinate, and monitor all performance management tasks
    • Administer the compensation program
    • Lead complete employee lifecycle for the organization
    • Create and manage awards and recognition program
  • RECRUITMENT – Assist Talent Acquisition Manager in recruitment efforts for all personnel
    • Source and manage database of candidates and independent contractors
    • Manage contingent hire processes for engagements
    • Manage job postings and recruiting firms
    • On-campus recruiting
    • Interview administration, background checks and checking references
    • Full administration of onboarding new hires, conducts new-employee orientations and pilot project for services team
  • COMPLIANCE – Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • EMPLOYEE RELATIONS – Administer employee engagement survey (NPS), handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
  • BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION – Perform benefits administration (PEO), including open enrollment, change reporting, and communicating benefits information to employees
  • IMMIGRATON ADMINISTRATION – Administer Visa/Immigration programs/procedures for the non-citizen employees and contractors with legal
  • ATTRACT, TRAIN, AND RETAIN – Develop, strategize, and execute departmental tactics and initiatives
    • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • CULTURE – Nurture culture and Spire accomplishments
    • Manage birthday, happy hour and work anniversary dates
    • Plan, organize, and track community service efforts for all offices towards company BHAG

SKILLS

  • Excellent organization skills, strong analytical, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to research, compile information and make recommendations for special projects

  • Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of individuals at multiple levels within the organization with minimal supervision required

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Business
  • Minimum 7 years of Human Resources experience
  • Minimum 5 years of benefit administration
  • Minimum 4 years of contingent hiring
  • Experience with A/E/C industry

Preferred

  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • SHRM CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification
