Position Summary

Spire is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager who will be responsible for the planning, implementing, managing and controlling of all financial-related activities for the company. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as technical accounting expertise. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of our financial reporting and closing activities. This role will collaborate with other departments to help streamline processes, analyze financial data, and provide insight that leads to strategic decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Oversee, review, and approve financial statements, reports and tax returns.
  • Oversee and execute annual budget planning and processing for internal controls.
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger and payroll.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements & analysis.
  • Research accounting issues and implement solutions.
  • Serve as a liaison to external auditors and tax preparers.
  • Knowledge of accounting and other computer programs.

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed or required by deadlines.
  • Proven demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master of Accounting/MBA a plus)
  • Current knowledge of GAAP accounting, including familiarity with project accounting (CPA a plus)
  • 5+ years of corporate accounting experience
  • Experience with Certinia / FinancialForce Preferred
  • Previous experience as an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller at a construction, engineering, or similar professional services firms preferred.
