Associate Principal

Cary Matthews brings more than three decades of experience in project controls, scheduling, and cost management across the oil and gas, petrochemical, power, pharmaceutical, government, and technology sectors.

As an Associate Principal at Spire, Cary leads the development and validation of construction cost estimates, CPM schedules, and project controls deliverables that help clients minimize risk and maximize performance.  Throughout his career, Cary has managed complex, multi-billion-dollar programs for clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Meta, Cheniere, NextEra Energy, and the U.S. Department of Energy. His expertise includes schedule impact analysis, earned value management, risk mitigation, and change management, with a proven record of driving efficiency and ensuring alignment between project execution and client objectives. In addition to his technical acumen, Cary is committed to mentorship and industry involvement, developing high-performing teams and advancing best practices in scheduling and project controls. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Science from Lamar University, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
